a glimmer, a glimpse

It's our time!

This is what I have been working on today. I almost had a break down (No one should take themselves so seriously...) as I was pulling out all the flamboyant pieces of fabric from my well stocked closet. I had created a good old mess, with piles of art supplies on every surface and engulfing the floor around my desk, my breath started shortening... and then I realized I should reign it in a little bit. I ruled out some of the things I was contemplating and got to work. Things are progressing nicely, thanks to my friend Jess for the gold belt that I tore into pieces and Cargo for the free 2011 garden calendar.

It's a New Year Folks...

That was a little sampling of the last couple of months. I am working pretty hard lately trying to get prepared for my upcoming show in February. More details and sneak peaks to come. Now that everyone is all good and caught up, it's time for bed.

I was walking back from a quick bite to eat with my friend Larry the other day when I was reminded that life has magical moments in store for each and everyone of us, if only we open ourselves up to them. We were in the middle of discussing the design choices of the local architects building condos in our area. Larry no sooner brought up the brilliant Frank Lloyd Wright when we stumbled across these two gentlemen and an incredible collection of handmade goods. Needless to say, I saw the beautifully recycled, repurposed, "relifed", shining items on the ground in front of me and I lost all track of our conversation. This chance happening is what I would call a perfect Portland moment, when magic is proven to be real.

I have been taking photos...

So I started carrying around my fathers old 35mm camera as of late. I bought film for the first time in probably 5 years, which was more expensive than I remember, but I look forward to hard copy tangibles. I took a great picture today, or at least I think so, but I will have to wait for the proof, since I have not finished the roll and have no LCD screen on the back of this heavy old metal Canon with a lollipop inside.
Until I have the photos developed we'll have to settle for the next best thing, the digital shots I have taken... Here they are in no particular order. <3
